Seiko Astron GPS Solar Blue Dial Silver Stainless Steel Bracelet Quartz Men's Watch SSH049J1 The Case: This Seiko Astron GPS Solar Satellite SSH049J1 measures at 41mm wide by 13mm thick in stainless steel, it has been treated to a super-hard coating to ensure the longevity of your timepiece. Sapphire crystals have been used with a super clear coating. This allows for maximum visibility and also superlative levels of scratch resistance. It features a screw down crown that is situated at the 3 oclock maker, as well as two push buttons that are present either side of the crown. The Dial: The alluring blue dial consist of an uncomplicated lay out to enable optimum legibility. It is adorned by bronze accents, which impart an opulent feeling on to it. The dauphine-style hands and hour markers are either coated or filled with a luminescent material to allow for readability in areas of low light. There are multiple sub-dials present throughout the dial. A smaller sub-dial at the 6 o'clock marker indicates your home time. Whislt a sub-dial besides the 3 o'clock marker indicates the day of the week at the local time, an AM/PM indicator is set within. A further sub-dial at the 9 o'clock marker acts as a function indicator and a power reserve indicator. It also features the ever present Seiko logo beneath the 12 oclock mark. A day display is also present at the between the 4 and 5 oclock indices. The Bracelet: The bracelet of the Seiko Astron GPS Solar Satellite SSH049J1 follows suit, it is made from brushed stainless with triple folding. It comes in a classic 3-link oyster style. It fastens easily using a three-fold clasp with push button release. The clasp has a Seiko logo engraved into it. Movement: Quartz mechanisms power the watch, it synchronises twice a day to an atomic clock in a GPS satellite. The first connection of the day will be made when the dial sensor detects sunlight and the second is made at a time that is predetermined and set by the wearer, to accommodate the wearers needs. The 5X53 caliber boasts an extraordinary time accuracy of 1 second deviation every 100,000 years making it one of the most accurate watches in the market. Although without GPS connection, the quartz movement keeps time to the standard +/- 15 per month accuracy. Also to note, the watch is water resistance is up to 100 metres.
