Seiko Prospex Save The Ocean Manta Ray Turtle Automatic Blue Dial Silver Stainless Steel Bracelet Men's Watch SRPE39K1 The Case: The case of the Seiko Prospex Save The Ocean Turtle SRPE39K1 measures in at 45mm in diameter and is crafted from solid stainless steel. The cushion style case of this watch has earned itself the nickname, The Turtle amongst the Seiko community. An oversized screw down crown is also present besides the 4 oclock mark, it is protected by a crown guard, which bolsters the functionality of this model. A bold black uni-directional rotating bezel sits on top of the case, a 60-minute track meanders around of it, while a lume pip is present at the 12 oclock mark. It is made from ceramic, a material that is favoured by luxury watch brands due to its durability and longevity. The bezel will retain its eye-catching glossy finish, as it is scratch resistant and fade resistant qualities, which is therefore why Rolex began to use ceramic bezel inserts as opposed to aluminium. A stainless steel screw down case back has been specially engraved. Sapphire crystal glass has been chosen for its scratch resistant qualities, it is second only to diamond in its hardness. The Dial: The dial of this special edition timepiece represents the view of the ocean as seen by the 5m deep vision of the Manta Ray endangered species. Its colours echo the gradations of sunlight refraction and the patterns symbolise waves seen from under the sea.As a tool watch legibility and reliability are perhaps the most important requirements of this watch. The simplistic layout of the dial ensures legibility and avoids the risk of any complications. For example it features large easy to read silver indices and hands that stand out against the background of the deep blue dial. They are also filled with Lumibrite, which allows the dial to be read in areas of low light. Both the Seiko logo and the Prospex logo are positioned neatly to prevent overcrowding on the dial. Replacing the 3 oclock index is a minimalistic day and date window which allows you to keep up to date all month. Around the very edge of the dial is a chapter ring that displays a 60 minute track. The Bracelet: The silver bracelet of the watch is made from highly durable stainless steel, that has been finished using a brushing technique. It comes in the style of an oyster bracelet, which is associated with the Rolex brand. It fastens usinga three fold clasp with a secure lock, to ensure that it remains safely upon the wearers wrist. The Functions: Seikos exclusive 4R36 automatic movement powers this timepiece. It isa self-winding calibrewith manual-winding capacity and a hacking-seconds features.This movement has an incredible 41 hour power reserve which means you can take it off your wrist for the weekend whilst you relax. It consists of 23 jewels and it beats at 21,600vph. This watch has a water resistance of 200 metres, making it suitable for diving.
